The Demon’s Pact Graphic Novel

So, for the past ten days, I’ve been busy setting up my new laptop because my old beast decided it was going to have boot failure. And since I’m enjoying my new laptop, I’ve been creating a graphic novel for the Demon’s Pact. I already had the short story written for a pilot so, this makes my life easier. The hard part is creating the scenes in Daz3d Studio.

Some of the scenes can be easy. But I do have to create 5 more characters for this story. Some scenes are going to be difficult like Jen in her truck when she gets to the case scene after the teaser. I just finished the pages for the teaser today.

Now it will be a challenge to try and draw and model a Ford Ranger pickup in Hexagon. Unless I can find one free without any viruses attached or hoops to jump through lol In-between all this madness, I have been writing in the third novella for the ShadowFalls series that features Jennifer Long.

Plus, I signed up for nano this year. The Last Goddess will be used for that. I’m a glutton for punishment I suppose lol. But hey, I’m having a blast doing the scenes for the graphic novel. And my skills as a graphic designer are growing immensely!

So, I give you an exclusive sneak peak at the first 5 pages of the graphic novel.

The Last Goddess

First of all, I would like to take a moment of silence for all the victims and families affected by what happened in Las Vegas last night. Things like this really devastate me and it’s hard to move on, but we all do for those who can’t.  Most times I find it difficult to continue doing what I was doing before I found out about such tragic news. But then I think, I will dedicate my abilities to those who can’t finish theirs. If that makes sense.

………………………………

I know I’ve been slacking on posting but I have been quite busy with my other passion, Sevenia Studios. Now that my muse is back, I have been going back and forth between two new stories. One is from famed Elite S.E.V.E.N. Agent Jennifer Long. That story is being told from her point of view and it’s going to feature the beginnings of her life as an agent. This one is fun. I find I actually like writing in first person and reading in first person when I could never stand either before. Not until I read Burn from my favorite author Lars Emmerich. He tells the tale of Homeland Security Agent Sam Jameson now in a different life as well. He inspires me so much. Him and CJ Lyons.

The other story is about a young woman named Doctor Jane Cathaway. I was sitting down one day and her name just came to me. Just the name, nothing else. I wrote a chapter out to see where she’d go in third person. And so far, she is complicated to say the least lol. She has a deep, rich history surrounded by one tragic event. All my characters seem to have some tragic event lol. But I think that’s good cause life isn’t a bowl of peaches for everyone. Here is what I came up with for the logline and book blurb for Jane. Thoughts? I’d appreciate some comments on having tragic characters. Do they get boring after awhile or do you find them worth investing your time in?

The Last Goddess

Logline

Set in the present times of the modern day Earth, Doctor Jane Cathaway holds onto a secret. But when she is forced to go to the British Isles to help on an archaeology dig, her secret may just be revealed in order to prevent the end of all life.

Book Blurb

Doctor Jane Cathaway finds herself in the midst of the ever changing modern world. A doctrine of philosophy, specifically Norse Mythology, Jane holds onto a deep family secret. Only her husband, Robert knows but now in the wake of an attempted break in at her museum, Jane finds herself slowly letting out this secret that could change not only her marriage but the world. But no one believes her.

When she is forced to go to the British Isles to help a mystery man on an archaeology dig, her secret may just be exposed. But when a rare find is found, she realizes that she may be the only one to save all life in the universe. But can she come to terms with the family secret before the artifact is used and ends all life?

A Wild Month

So, since I last wrote, it’s been a wild month. Between my hubby having the shakes and stutters from withdrawal from a bad batch of Kratom to my dad having to go to the ER three times, my hubby’s family having their issues, I’ve been completely overwhelmed taking care of three people by myself.

I haven’t written anything as of late. Been taking care of the family and working on my other passion, art. I’m not sure what’s going to happen to my writing from here on out but lately, I just don’t feel like writing. I think my muse is on vacation lol. And that’s okay. I have been writing non stop since 2010. I need a break myself.

It was hard taking care of my mother while dad was in the hospital for three days. I’m thankful I had my wonderful, strong, hubby with me. Without him, omg, I don’t even want to imagine.

After she berated us the entire day about being here, We had to call 911 cause dad passed out in the kitchen. This was Thursday last week. And no help from my older sister, I was a little miffed. This happened once before where we had to take dad to the ER and she was all lovey duvey with us until dad came, both times.

On a more serious note, Pursued is being edited right now. It’s the second book of the Elite Agents of S.E.V.E.N. series. It features Elite Agent, Jennifer Long. This one has been fun to write. Jen is my favorite character out of all nine agents.

Living with a narcissist

This is my truth as a struggling author.

I currently have to live with my parents due to financial reasons as of late. This is not a sympathy or pity post. I just thought I’d share my true life story.

Where do I begin? I’m not really sure. I started writing down everything at the end of June thanks to a friend’s suggestion. It’s been extremely hard living here while being poor. Oh sure people say go get a job. But getting that job won’t get us out. Not when you have to make 2500 a month to live. And having crappy credit doesn’t help. Being up to your eyeballs in debt doesn’t help either.

Last night my mom was on a tear about how everything is hers. This is my house. That’s my stove. I had to go to work midnight’s to pay for everything. So I clapped my hands to her while hubby and I were in the basement watching a movie. Then she says I’m gonna cut you up. I said yeah, come down here and cut me.

This is the first time she’s ever threatened my life. Regardless of what’s happened in the past, no mother should ever treat her daughter like this! EVER!

All my life I have struggled cause I never had guidance from them. They didn’t teach me about anything. No I’m not blaming them. But they blame me for everything in their lives right down to ruining their marriage cause I supposedly drained them financially.

Which I’ve had to borrow like 25k in my lifetime. But THAT’S THEIR JOB! To always be there no matter what. Don’t hang my birth over my head or how you had to raise me. I didn’t ask to be born.

Since 2003 hubby and I have struggled financially. No matter what we’ve tried, we’ve failed since. I even went to school to get a bachelor’s degree. I gradated in 2011. Still no job at 45 years old.

That’s why I became an author. Being an author is my escape from this hellish life I didn’t choose!!!!!

I’m thinking about either starting another blog to show what it’s like living with abusive non caring, non loving parents and family members. What are your thoughts? Do you think as an author I should display this here or make it separate?

I also struggle with CPTSD daily cause of this whole ordeal. I try to tell them and they just laugh at me. Or say bullshit. This is your fault not ours. I haven’t been diagnosed yet. That will hopefully be soon. But I feel the changes. And I don’t like it. I find myself drinking more and more being here. It seems there’s no escape for us. There never has been an escape for us. We’ve had to come back here three times now.

I just, I don’t like who I’m becoming. But writing and music, my hubby, and friends help. So I just wonder, do I allow this to become more personal to you all, in hopes maybe it can help others? Or do I keep it separate under another name? I would really like opinions on this cause I have to get this out of me one way or another.

Summer fun

It’s been an amazing summer so far. The month of July has been super busy while I write the second book Retribution to the new series ShadowFalls. I am digging this new series. Jennifer Long has some cool new adventures while fighting the changes going on in her mind. Being diagnosed with CPTSD is tough for her to deal with. She wants to stay retired but she is called action once again.

On a personal level, hubby and I have been spending a lot of time up north with his family. His brother and his brother’s wife and two kids are amazing. They always help me get unstuck when writer’s block decides to come and knock me down lol. Or if my muse decides she is going to go on a vacation herself lol Brenda is truly amazing though and they all understand how hard it is for us right now as we try to get our lives together lol.

As of right now, I am at the beginning of Chapter 6. This story is going to have a different feel to it. But so far, it is action packed. Jen is trying to rekindle her relationship with her husband Brian but something always keeps coming up to where she still has to break some promises.

Enjoy your summer and I hope to blog more as our summer is kind of slowing down now for a bit. hubby is back to work after having three weeks off. So now I can truly have more time for all my other things on the crazy web hehe

Happy July

What a busy June that was for me. Hope everyone had a safe and happy fourth of July. I began writing a new series for Jennifer Long called #ShadowFalls. This takes place after the Elite Agents of S.E.V.E.N. Pursued, the second book in that series is finished and will be self published mid August. Killer Ties is the third and final book for the series and I am not sure when it will be out.

But ShadowFalls is an amazing tale of Agent Jennifer Long from the previously mentioned series. So far the series consists of two novellas. One is called The Haunted Past and the second so far is titled Retribution.

And wonderful digital artist Cynthia Michaels at Sevenia Studios has started on creating a collectable card game for the Elite Agents of S.E.V.E.N. Here is a small preview of the cards. She has also designed all the Wayfarer characters in 3d along with all the agents.
